The 100 TONN.KZ team relocated a SOMA Optima 1 flexographic printing press to a new production facility in Tashkent. This approximately 40-tonne machine was dismantled, transported 10 km, moved into the production facility, assembled and commissioned while retaining its original operating parameters.

Challenge

The client needed the printing press to be relocated from a production facility in central Tashkent to a new site outside the city.

Particular attention had to be paid to preserving the machine’s operating parameters and print quality.

Solution

The 100 TONN.KZ team has many years of experience in installing SOMA printing presses and had previously worked at this packaging production facility. In particular, one year ago, we installed an identical press at the same facility following its delivery from the Czech Republic. Our in-depth knowledge of the equipment allowed us to perform industrial relocation efficiently and professionally.

Before dismantling, our specialists performed a test run and produced a reference print to establish a benchmark for print quality. The machine assemblies and cables were then labelled, and the equipment was dismantled, packed and prepared for transportation.

After transportation to the new site, the press was moved into the production hall, reassembled and mechanically installed. Heavy assemblies, including the dryer frame, were handled using mobile cranes and a forklift provided by the client.

At the new location, the equipment was levelled and aligned, connected to the electrical systems and compressed-air and water utilities. In the final stage specialists performed testing, commissioning and machine setup.

The entire project was completed in just over two and a half weeks.

Result

The SOMA Optima 1 was successfully relocated to the new production facility, installed and commissioned. A final reference print confirmed that the press had maintained its operating parameters and print quality following the relocation.

The equipment is now ready for continued operation at the new production facility.
